Installation

In terms of installation, a 360 cooler might be a rather daunting prospect to those unfamiliar with their installation. In this regard, however, Thermaltake has made a clear effort to make the process as simple as possible. All of the parts you are provided with are clearly labelled and thanks to its clever pump head mounting system, shouldn’t provide anyone with too much trouble.

The manual which is provided with the cooler is excellent. While it is perhaps a little light in terms of written information, the diagrams provided are nice and clear.

In terms of the installation, from out of the box and onto the system, the Thermaltake Water 3.0 360 took me around 20 minutes to install. This is pretty decent by usual cooler standards and, if nothing else, is a testament to the ease of design which has been created here.

The only mildly daunting aspect is the sheer number of cables you are dealing with. With 3 fans (each with 2 cables) the radiator alone will have 6 cables sprouting off it which you will need to ensure get attached to the correct port and ultimately all link up to ensure that your fans are running both in terms of their physical speed and the RGB lighting. Fortunately, Thermaltake does provide you with a nice ‘daisy chain’ type system which makes this a lot simpler than it looks. Additionally, the cable lengths are fantastic meaning that you should have no problem ensuring that these can be tidied and tucked away in your system management.
