Thermaltake‘s Pacific R1 Plus RGB lighting kit is now available. This lighting kit is specifically designed to fit over the user’s DIMM slots, making it look like you have RGB LED modules.
It is actually a simple but (no pun intended) brilliant idea otherwise and it allows users to add lighting without replacing their kits. Users really just need to clip it on the top and bottom ends of the DIMM slots, then plug in the cable.
Obviously, this solution is not as ‘clean’ as having RGB DDR4 modules since there are wires involved. Also, users with a dual slot motherboard such as mini-ITX will not be able to use this unit. Thermaltake’s Pacific R1 covers four DIMM slots so it is ideal for dual-channel or quad-channel motherboards with at least four slots side by side.
Furthermore, height consideration should also factor in. Especially since this will not fit on top of modules with very tall heatspreaders.
The colours can be controlled with the TT RGB PLUS software. Plus, it synchronizes with ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, AsRock digital +5V motherboard RGB software. Each package also comes with an RGB controller box. So users will be able to plug it in, even when the motherboard does not have a digital RGB header.
The Pacific R1 RGB DDR4 Lighting Kit is now available via TTPremium for $59.99 USD. It should also be available soon in retail stores carrying Thermaltake products worldwide.
