Final ThoughtsWhen I first saw pictures of the cooler I was a little sceptical of it. It was smaller in size than a lot of its competitors and used less heatpipes which I (judgementally) thought would translate into worse performance. I am glad to admit that I couldn’t have been more wrong!

The design of the cooler is very innovative. ThermoLab smartly decided to move the base so that tall RAM heatsinks wouldn’t cause clearance issues, a 130mm fan is used instead of a 120mm fan so that motherboard components such as the VRM’s receive some extra incidental airflow allowing them to be effectively cooled and anti-vibration mounts are used to ensure no excess noise is produced. It is always great to see cooling companies not just looking to assert their muscle by a making a bigger cooler that is slightly better, but to come up with some unique and innovative ideas that mean bigger isn’t always better.

Installation was about as painless as installing a CPU cooler can be. The instructions were extremely clear and decisive and the inclusion of coloured diagrams and annotated drawings was a smart move by ThermoLab. Spare accessories being included in the bundle was also nice to see and another good perk.

As for performance, it was very impressive. To be quite frank, the competing cooler was left in the Trinity’s dust. The majority of testing saw our processor staying under 70C with just the few seconds of testing where it jumped above. Being able to tame a very hot processor with the ease that the ThermoLab Trinity did is just amazing, especially when considering its retail price of £35.

Amazing performance coupled with great price always spells out good things. Add in the innovative features, ease of installation, aesthetically pleasing finish and general sense of quality and ThermoLab have a real winner in the Trinity. We would have no hesitation recommending this cooler.

  • No fan clips included for push/pull
