Thortech Thunderbolt Plus 800W Power Supply Unit Review

In a cold load test we run the PSU in an open air environment to see what the unit is capable without the limiting factor of heat. We hook the PSU up to our load tester and measure the voltage of the various rails as well as measuring the efficiency.

I was very happy with the results here, there is always the danger of a company including a new feature such as the digital power meter to make up for shortcomings elsewhere, but we can see that the unit provides some solid results. I would say that the voltage regulation is way above average and is up there with enthusiast PSUs. The regulation on the 3.3V rail was a little lacking which let the unit down a little.
