Thq Nordic Has Bought Koch Media and Will Publish Metro: Exodus

THQ Nordic now owns the rights to Metro and other games.
Just in case you haven’t heard of Koch Media yet, we’ll tell you that it represents the parent company of Deep Silver. In turn, Deep Silver owns the rights to various well-known franchises, including Metro and Saints Row. With the acquisition of Koch media, THQ Nordic will now publish the much-anticipated Metro: Exodus video game. Some of you might be wondering about the purchasing price. It looks like THQ Nordic bought Koch Media for no less than $149 million. For Koch’s employers, not many things will change, as the company will operate under the same brand and with the same people.
How come the purchase went through so fast?
You might remember that Deep Silver recently published Homefront: The Revolution, and Agents of Mayhem. You might also remember that neither of those games was received very well. These two commercial flops undoubtedly made selling a lot easier, but hopefully, future titles will have a better fate. Speaking of future titles, we already know that THQ Nordic plans to release some important games without DRM on GOG. These include Darksiders 3, Biomutant and Fade to Silence. Now, it will be very interesting to see if Metro: Exodus will also be released without any DRM, although that’s probably a bit of a stretch.
