How Much Does it Cost?

The Thrustmaster T.Flight Full Kit X: Complete Kit for Flight Simulation, Joystick and Detachable Throttle, Rudder Pedals with Slide Rails, Compatible with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC is available now for just £159.99 on Amazon UK. That’s a lot of money for a controller, but really, it’s three controllers. You’re getting the stick, the throttle, and the pedals. For a practically complete flight simulator setup it’s a great deal and really helps take your sim lighting to levels that you just can’t get from a standard analogue control pad.

If you want to really treat yourself and punish your bank balance, the Thrustmaster TCA Yoke Pack Boeing Edition is a lot more high-end, starting at £379.99 for the Yoke, but add the throttle for £120 more, or get them as a bundle for £415. You can go for bundles higher than this too, but my point is, it really highlights the value of the T.Flight!

Personally, I have long dreamt of the much more complicated Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog A10 Replica, but I’ve never had the opportunity to actually use one, let alone be able to afford one. Still, it looks like it’s worth the £423 asking price.

Overview

This is a great entry-level for the budding enthusiast. It has everything you need for a wide range of simulation gaming. If you’re into your space games, you’ll find enough buttons to enjoy some great simulation and VR gaming in the likes of Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, No Mans Sky, etc. It has a good button configuration that’s well suited to combat too, so Star Wars Squadrons is a lot of fun.

I’m a big fan of classic arcade games too, so if you want to fire up an emulator and play some After Burner, you can do that too, albeit, if that’s all you’re doing this stick is overkill. The more compact, and affordable, Thrustmaster TCA Sidestick is great if you want something more beginner-friendly.

Flight Simulator is a big deal though, and if you want to really get into the depths of what Microsofts ever-improving simulator has to offer, without spending a small fortune, the Thrustmaster T.Flight Full Kit X: Complete Kit is really the best place to get started. Plus, offering support for both Xbox consoles and PC makes it extremely versatile. Especially now that Microsoft Flight Simulator is available on both.

Should I Buy One?

Honestly, I can’t fault it, it’s a lot of fun to use and delivers exactly what you would expect. For those playing more flight simulator stuff, the TCA Airbus Edition hardware is a good place to start. However, this bundle with the petals and the affordable HOTAS design make it much more gamer-friendly and well suited to just about any game with flight controls. It does take up a lot of desktop space though, so if you only plan on using it every now and then, be sure you have a big shelf or some cupboard space to put it all safely out of the way. Either way, your money goes a long way here, and you’ll never want to go back to an Xbox controller for your flight simulator again!
