Thunder X3 are back on eTeknix once again, following their award-winning debut with the TM60 Laser Gaming Mouse. For a new brand to hit the market with such a high-quality product on the first go is pretty rare, but since ThunderX3 is the gaming focused brand created by the well-known Aerocool, who have done all their own design and manufacturing for these products, that hardly comes as a surprise.
Equipped with powerful 53mm drivers, which are sure to give some most welcome punch to your gaming audio (or any audio source for that matter), as well as a padded over-ear design, virtual 7.1 surround processing, a noise cancelling microphone and much more, the TH40 are well equipped for all your desktop movie, music and gaming needs, so let’s jump right into the good stuff and take a look and a listen at what they have to offer.
The drivers are nice and large at 53mm, but with the soft padding around the ear cups, as well as a closed back design, we’re expecting them to pack a good bass response, which is often welcome to many users. The omni-direction noise-cancelling microphone is detachable, which is always a nice feature to have, and finally, we’ve got a good length 2.1m braided USB cable, meaning they’re plug and play friendly.
The packaging is very nicely designed, with a clear image of the headset on the front, and showing off a teaser of the 7 colour LED lighting, as well as touting the 7.1 surround processing.
Around the back, all the usual technical details (see above).
The box opens out, giving you a good look at the actual headset, as well as a rundown of major features, such as the microphone and USB setup.
