With the release of the new Fallout show everyone is giving it their praise and has made people go wild for this old IP skyrocketing its Steam chart numbers to well over 100000 players, and modders are now making mods to bring the TV show to the game.
But it seems not everyone is celebrating the success of the Fallout show not even the creator of Fallout Todd Howard who seems to be more interested in Bethesda’s third failed child, Starfield.
Now to say Starfield is a failure is a bit of an over-exaggeration as it didn’t fail, in fact it sold quite well, but it just didn’t keep people’s interest (I got 80 hours in and just stopped, for no particular reason). I guess it just wasn’t very interesting at least not nearly enough to live up to the expectations.
In an interview with IGN Todd Howard briefly touched upon the topic of their upcoming games like The Elder Scrolls 6 which Howard previously said would come before Fallout 5.
“I’m going to avoid putting dates on anything,” says Howard. “I’ve learned that the hard way. So obviously, our focus as far as new development right now is Elder Scrolls VI, but that doesn’t mean that we’re not making plans for other things.” He also mentioned Fallout 76 before moving on to Bethesda‘s most recent title. “We’re doing a lot of Starfield work as well,” says Howard. “So we have some really good updates that are going to get announced soon for that game. So, a lot going on here.”
What the updates will be we don’t know but whether they are good or not we won’t know till they are released we only know that the update will be big. We only know that thanks to some teasing late last year, In a message posted to the game’s subreddit Bethesda said to “expect an update early next year that will include a large number of ‘in-progress’ quest fixes as well as FSR3 and XeSS”
