Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six’s latest settlement named Patriots and announced for 2013

Five years after the last Rainbow Six game, we will finally see another release confirmed to be dubbed Patriots, but five years after Vegas 2’s release is 2013, meaning we’ll have to wait before then.

According to some, this wait could be because of Vegas 2’s critics of similarity to the original Vegas. Unfortunately, no strong information about the specifics of the game have been released, but the game is being developed by Ubisoft Montreal with the support of Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Red Storm.

For the little information we have now, we know that Patriot is going to “capture the reality of modern-day terrorism” and the single-player campaign will feature a dynamic storyline with multiple playable characters.

“Terrorism has evolved, and so has Rainbow 6. In Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots, all the team play, tactics, and realism that fans of the series love have been coupled with an exciting new narrative direction. This adds an unprecedented level of humanity that will make Tom Clancy’s Rainbow 6 Patriots an extremely tense and immersive experience,” said David Sears, Ubisoft creative director.

The story follows Team Rainbow as they go against the True Patriots, a group of revolutionaries with the belief of a government corrupted by corporations and who are intended on taking it out to replace it by their own system. This entire storyline will take Team Rainbow into “critical scenarios that will require them to make tough ethical decisions in order to stop this new breed of terrorists.”

As for any good FPS nowadays, Rainbow 6 Patriots will see both a multiplayer mode and a cooperative mode, and is said to feature new ways of communication and teammate coordination.

Interestingly enough, Ubisoft anticipated leaks and therefore presented a preview themselves, although be aware that this is not real gameplay footage, and as a matter of fact is quite old, it was just intended to get a feeling of the game.

Set for 2013, Rainbow 6 Patriots will see the light on the major consoles, that is Xbox, Playstation and PC.
