Legendary skateboarder Tony Hawk has sparked excitement among fans, confirming that he has been in talks with Activision for a new project ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series. During an interview with Mythical Kitchen, Hawk shared, “I’ve been talking to Activision again, which is insanely exciting. We’re working on something. This is the first time I’ve said that publicly.” He emphasized that the project is something fans will “truly appreciate,” though specific details remain under wraps.
The news has fueled speculation, with many hoping for a remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, which was reportedly in development before Activision shifted its focus elsewhere. Hawk previously revealed that the plan for remasters of THPS 3+4 was scrapped when developer Vicarious Visions was absorbed into Blizzard Entertainment.
Fans are already buzzing over what this project could entail. Some speculate it might be a return to the Pro Skater remasters, following the success of 2020’s Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2, while others hope for something entirely new. “I think it will be something that fans will truly appreciate,” Hawk said, but it won’t involve cutting-edge VR or contact lens gaming technology, putting some wild rumors to rest.
As the 25th anniversary of the series approaches, anticipation continues to build. Whether it’s a remaster or a fresh entry in the series, Hawk and Activision’s collaboration has reignited hope for skateboard game enthusiasts everywhere.
