Topower Black-X Series DDR3 1333MHz 8GB Memory Kit Review

The memory modules come supplied in a small form factor box with a view of the modules inside. The branding is vertically printed in the middle and some of the key features of being pre-sorted, pre-tuned and enthusiast grade are also denoted on the packaging.
Flipping the packaging over to the rear, we can see information on how to contact Topower Memory via email or telephone. We can also see that like most memory manufacturers, that this set of modules comes inclusive of a lifetime warranty, though you’ll find that memory modules very rarely have issues or problems.
Taking the outer shell off of the packaging, we see the two modules encased in a plastic clam packaging to protect them when in transit. A first view of the modules shows off the unique colour scheme of the heatspreaders.
Once we’ve removed the modules from this secondary packaging, we get a view of the low profile black and orange heatspreaders with Topower Memory branding on the far right. On the left of the modules is the expected barcode sticker which gives us information on each individual module. A very distinctive colour is used for these modules which would go perfectly with the Gigabyte orange boards that we’ve seen with the Z77X-UP7, which is due to be released very soon, if you’re keen to have a system that is colour coded.
Zooming in closer to the heatspreaders, we can see that the modules are part of the Black series of modules, is DDR3 and operates at 1333MHz. The barecode also includes the kit size and module part numbers, which can be a bit confusing due to the number 16 as some may think this is a 16GB kit and that each individual module is 8Gb in size, but this isn’t the case, and each module is in fact 4GB in size, comprising of a total of 8GB.
