Each X300 includes an internal shock sensor to maintain data integrity. It is also equipped with ramp loading technology which ensures that the drive slider does not make contact with the disk when in transport. Unlike other drives, the X300 series makes use of a dual-stage actuator design. This significantly improves positional accuracy and negates the effects of head-track alignment from vibrations. The result is faster read and write speeds over regular desktop drives.
The X300 8TB high-performance HDD is now available on NewEgg for $254.99, and has a 2-year warranty. This is $25 less than their N300 8TB NAS drive. Also for comparison, the 6TB version of the X300 costs $189, while the 4TB version has a $132 price tag.
