Faster MicroSDXC from Toshiba
Storage and memory manufacturer Toshiba is announcing the M303 series to their EXCERIA family of microSDXC cards. These drives carry a V30 stamp signifying their compliance with Video Speed Class 30 standards. Which means they are capable of recording and storing 4K Ultra HD content. The V30 standard requires a minimum sequential write speed of at least 30 MB/sec. According to Toshiba, the M303 series is capable of 65MB/s write, with read speeds of 98MB/s.
What Capacity Options are Available from the EXCERIA M303 Series?
The EXCERIA M303 is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities. While this is not nearly as big as Western Digital’s SanDisk Extreme 400GB A2 card, it is plenty for most applications. A 256GB card is capable of storing more than 5 hours of 4K video after all.
Each card has an operating temperature range of -25˚C to +85˚C, and is shockproof, x-ray proof and waterproof. All also have a five-year warranty coverage.
How Much is the Toshiba EXCERIA M303 microSDXC?
Toshiba did not disclose pricing yet, but they will begin shipping out to retailers by the end of Q1 2018.
