Toshiba already have a substantial variety of tablets out at the moment including the Portégé and Thrive tablets. They are by no means resting on their laurels though and are planning a new tablet. The WT301/D Wintel tablet is scheduled next and this one resembles a notebook in specifications. Packing a 10.1″ LED backlit screen at 1366 by 768, an Intel Atom processor (unknown model at this time), 2 GB of RAM, a 64 GB solid state drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, a 1.3-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 0.3MP webcam, stereo speakers, a micro HDMI output, and one USB 2.0 port.
There is not a word on pricing just yet but given the impressive specifications it certainly will not be cheap. It will launch first in Toshiba’s home market, Japan.
