The PCI-Express adapter uses an x4 connector and will fit into most systems. It is also compatible with other sized modules, should you ever want to replace the SSD itself.
The rear of the adapter doesn’t hold many surprises, only a sticker. But it is a clean looking black PCB that will look good and blend well into most systems.
The expansion cover features air vents that allow the drive to breathe better. While a drive like this, and similar ones, doesn’t consume more than about 6W under full load and as such generate a lot of heat, it is a useful feature to have. Especially water cooled and custom systems might have a bad airflow by design and those people should be a little careful with their drive placement.
The drive itself is further secured with this adhesive pad placed under the drive. We also see the 2260 sized mounting hole and the connector itself in this shot.
