When the original Total War: Warhammer was released, as a reasonably unanticipated cross over between the Total War and Games Workshop franchises, not a lot was expected. It was, therefore, a great surprise when it turned out that Total War: Warhammer was not only passable, it was actually very good. The franchise was, in fact, received so well that a sequel has been in development almost since the initial sales figures went through the roof. Since this time, however, a lot of the community has been worried about the specifications. The Total War franchise has, after all, always been a bit top-heavy in system specifications. That doesn’t necessarily mean to say the specifications have been required to be high, but from Shogun 2 onwards, having a high-end system really enhanced the experience.

So, what are the specifications for Total War: Warhammer 2? Is it time to check the piggy bank to see how the Ryzen 7 fund is doing?

Well, the good news is that they are surprisingly reasonable. Something that feels a common theme in recent weeks. For example, the specifications for Outlast 2, which were expected to be quite high, turned out to be quite benign. That being said, Final Fantasy XV might be a bit of a fatty when it comes to requirements, so brace yourselves for that one.

For those anticipating an enjoyable experience of circa 30-60 FPS on a medium graphical setting.

A notable exclusion in the specifications in what is going to be necessary for those of you who enjoy the 4k gaming at ridiculous frames per second. To be honest, I suspect those specs are going to make your eyes water. Perhaps a little too much for them to, just yet, want to say what they are. For us mortals, however, who prefer to live on a similar plane of existence, these specifications make some pleasant reading.
