TOXIKK – Free Edition Ready to Download and Play!

We all love a good multiplayer game, but TOXIKK is very quickly settings its self apart from the crowd. Not only does the game look and play great, it’s also one of the few to do a tiered payment system in a meaningful way. Reakktor Studios has just released the free version of the game for all to download, meaning you can get in and enjoy the full core experience, with zero competitive disadvantages compared to those who own the full game. This means that you can play the game for free as much as you like and you won’t be a combat disadvantage for doing so.

FRAG LIKE IT’S 1999! – TOXIKK plays as if today’s military shooters never existed. The game combines the simple and intuitive mechanics of old-school FPS giants with a fresh setting, slick graphics and our vision to carefully evolve the genre with some new ideas elaborated with Arena-FPS enthusiasts.

Being a spiritual successor to the arena shooters of the late 90s and early 2ks, there is no levelling, no skill-trees, no perks, no cover systems, no classes, no configurable weapons and no iron sight aiming. But most importantly: TOXIKK is NOT “Free-2-Play”!

The free edition comes with some drawbacks, but they seem completely fair to us. You’ll have a limited number of maps and vehicles, as some will be on a per-map basis. You can’t vote for matches, customise your character, host custom game, or use the level editors. What you can do, however, is play on the official servers, play online and offline matches, be on the leaderboards, get all weapons and all mutators. While there are obviously some advantages to the paid version, they’re not on the battlefield, meaning there’s more than enough meat on the bone to get a good game out of the free version, and if you really like it, then you could always pay at a later date for the extra features.
