Transcend has announced the launch of three new DDR4 server-grade memory modules: 8GB and 16GB DDR4 2133MHz Registered DIMMs (RDIMMs) and 16GB DDR4 Very Low Profile (VLP) RDIMMs. The new modules are fully compatible with the latest Xeon E5-2600 v3 server processors and are perfect for cloud computing, virtualization and other high-performance computing technologies.
The new server-grade DDR3 RDIMMs and VLP RDIMMs are using the latest in density technology allowing these capacities with high-speed transmission of 2133MHz and up to 17GB/ bandwidth while only consuming 1.2V. That is a 40% reduction over the default modules. The lower power consumption isn’t just great for the electricity bill but also have a higher reliability factor.
The very-low-profile (VLP) modules measure just 18mm in height, perfect for use in high-end space-constrained platforms such as blade servers. Additionally, these modules help lower cooling costs by significantly improving chassis airflow and memory heat dissipation thanks to their reduced vertical footprint.
Transcend’s new DDR4 server modules are fully compliant with JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) standards and undergone 64 bit kernel, single-core and multi-core testing to ensure the best quality possible. All DDR4 models carry Transcend’s renowned Limited Lifetime Warranty.
