Transcend announced the launch of a 256GB capacity SDXC UHS-I card with full support for the Ultra High Speed Class 3 (U3) specification. The card is able to reach read and write speeds of up to 95MB/s and 60MB/s respectively while giving you a lot of space for all your 3D, 4K and Full HD recordings.
The Transcend SDXC cards are now available starting from 64GB cards and moving up through the 128GB and now the 256GB has been added, a size to fit almost every usage scenario. All the cards ensure that your video won’t be cut off due to the exFAT support that won’t limit you to a maximum of 4GB file-size. While the max speed is rated to 95MB/s while reading, the guaranteed minimum speed when writing is what matters when recording digital video. The UHS-I Class 3 specification guarantees a minimum of 30MB/s, but Transcend’s new card can do double that with its 60MB/s write speeds. This is due to the use of top-quality MLC flash chips. The cards are also backward compatible as SD Speed Class 10 that ensures a constant speed of at least 10MB/s, easy enough for Full HD video recording.
For added value, Transcend’s exclusive RecoveRx software features a user-friendly interface that allows users to search deep within a storage device for traces of erased files that can be rescued; the files include digital photos, documents, music and videos. With just a few mouse clicks, users can easily recover virtually any type of digital files. Moreover, RecoveRx supports SD Card Formatting and Data Protection functions, providing the ultimate convenience to manage any memory card.
With Transcend’s Lifetime Warranty, the SDXC UHS-I U3 cards look to be a great investment. The MSRP is set to $49 for the 64GB, $109 for the 128GB, and $289 for the 256GB capacities and should be available now.
