Cyanogen Fanboys, rejoice! TrueCaller has undergone a partnership with Cyngn, the commercial arm of CyanogenMod. TrueCaller is an app maker which has produced application like Truecaller and TrueDialer and offers them on multiple platforms like Android, iOS and Windows Phone 8. It basically enables a user to know the caller before picking up the call even if they are not on your address book. It is just like having an ultimate contact list. It will also show you if the number is marked as spam.
TrueCaller’s services will be baked into the Cyngn Dialer which will provide features like Caller ID, Enriched contact details and Spam Block. It will be delivered in the form of OTA updates to all the devices running Cyanogen OS (not CyanogenMOD) like YU Yureka and OnePlus One and the future ones too.
As a coin has 2 faces so does this, when you use Truecaller’s “enhanced search” feature, you are agreeing that Truecaller is allowed to collect and share contact information from your phone with other users of the service which is kind of questionable. Although users will have a choice to use it or not as it comes with opt-in/opt-out feature.
We currently don’t have any more information on the roll out dates but we will keep you up to date as soon as we do.
Thank you Cyngn for providing us with this information.
