Results

This shows us many things and one of those is that the Tsunami seems to be bottlenecking at around 37.6mb/s whereas the drives can cope with upto 213mb/s. This unfortunately means you don’t see much gain with the USB 3.0 speeds over the standard USB 2.0 speeds. 8mb/s increase is pretty rubbish compared to the 50mb/s increase the Akasa DuoDock 2S gave us over the USB 2.0 speeds. In theory USB 3.0 has the bandwidth to cope with somewhere up to 400 MB/s for these kinds of devices. The Tsunami’s performance is therefore pretty rubbish in this category.
