Tt eSPORTS Level 10 M Gaming Mouse Review

Now that we’ve taken a good look at the Level 10 M gaming mouse, you can see that the long shape would suit a palm grip over the claw. The aluminium frame, gives it a rigid feel that makes it much easier to grip and adds a solid build to the overall quality. It’ll be interesting to see just how well the passive cooling works – although we have a feeling we may have to turn the heating up in the office as it’s pretty damn cold at the moment! As usual, we’ll put the mouse through several gaming tests and then top it off with the general use test.

First Person Shooters

First up is FPS, so we’ll jump into a game of Battlefield 3 and then Borderlands 2 to put the mouse to the test. Jumping straight into a BF3 match, we were quickly testing the accuracy of the sensor by sniping. The high DPI allowed us to quickly manoeuvre the mouse across the desk (with ease might be add, due to the large feet), and then pick off our target. After entering a tank, we ramped up the DPI using the on the fly switch, which then allowed us to turn the tank turret just as quickly, like we were on foot. The high DPI really came in handy when piloting the jets, as it meant we could perform very short turns, often losing our pursuers.

We found the performance to be just as good in Borderlands 2. For this game we assigned one of the thumb buttons to melee, and the other to grenades, which really helped take some strain off stretching our fingers to reach the keys on the keyboard. The scroll wheel requires relatively little force to turn, but enough so it wasn’t easy to miss the gun we wanted.

Real Time Strategy

The Level 10 M is designed with RTS games in mind, so it was to no surprise that mouse performed flawlessly in this area. Navigating the huge maps in Supreme Commander 2 was a breeze and the accuracy and precision of the movement was superb, allowing us to quickly highlight our target for attach, to then move on to the next.

MMO

Again the Level 10 M is steered more towards this genre, so we made sure to make full use of the many buttons. We decided to play some Diablo 3, so we assigned some of the abilities to the buttons on the mouse. Not only did this mean we could get away with just using the mouse, but it meant we could cast many of the spells quicker. However, the positioning of the buttons on the right side of the mouse meant they are slightly awkward to press and require an uncomfortable position for your little finger. Overall though, the mouse was very easy to get along with.

Throughout the different genres, we didn’t really notice our hand getting very warm, but this could be down to a cold ambient room temperature, poor circulation, or in fact the passive cooling was having such a good effect, our hands did not have the chance to warm up. But this will require more extensive testing that we’ll report back with.

General Use

For general use, we absolutely loved the mouse. We do a lot of web orientated work, so the use of the multi-directional thumb button meant we could navigate the web with such ease. For general editing of photos, the accuracy and precision was great, allowing us to make very fine alterations without slipping – it helps that the mouse has such a rigid frame providing a good grip. The mouse was comfortable throughout testing, which was partially due to the ability to adjust the tilt and height of the mouse until it suited our grip – which for us, was lowest possible, with maximum right tilt.
