Tt eSPORTS Shock One Gaming Headset Review

Final ThoughtsWhile we were fairly impressed with lots of features of this headset there were a few things we didn’t like. For instance, while the software in parts is really useful, it also has a few features that seem a bit pointless, we did also struggle to notice any difference when changing the DTS Surround Sound settings, I’m also intrigued as to the need for a timer on the software?!
The headset itself is pretty good, the headset is powerful but with a precise finesse which gives films and games an extra dimension. The sound quality is also exceptional, even if you do dare to turn it all the way up. While the surround sound is not quite the best we have heard, it is easily the second best, and by quite some margin. The microphone didn’t quite seem to be up to the same quality as other headsets either but there are a lot of other factors that can effect the performance of this and it was still clear and with a good level of clarity just not as good as the rest of the headset.
Comfort is also exceptionally good, the headset does feel a bit heavier than others but it does feel comfortable to wear. Having the choice of the two ear cups is really nice and this shows the quality and thought that has gone into this headset. It is certainly well made and easy to keep clean and looking good.
Overall this is a very very good headset, and we did really struggle to pick up on any faults. The price is also fairly reasonable as it retails at only £59.75 on Scan.co.uk or an equally as good $92.99 from Newegg.com. I highly recommend this headset as it is a very impressive piece of kit and well worth the money.
Pros:
- Powerful headset
- Precise but rich sound quality
- Extra ear cups and carry bag
- Virtual surround sound is one of the best I’ve heard
- Perfect and brilliant for gaming or action packed films
- Very reasonable price
Cons:
- They could’ve done more with the software
- Not as good as true 5.1 surround sound headsets
