TteSPORTS Cronos AD Gaming Headset Review

Final Thoughts

Price

The TteSPORTS Cronos AD may not be the most feature-packed headset on the market, but given that you can pick one up from Scan for around £40, any shortcomings are easily overlooked. This is a great price for a headset from a trusted brand name and your wallet won’t run away when you order one.

Overview

I really like this headset, as it sounds great when you’re gaming, and delivers bright and clear audio for team chat, pretty much what you want from a gaming headset. The design looks fantastic too, with the TteSPORTS dragon on the side, and even more so when the LED lighting is fired up. The build quality is robust too, blending function and form quite nicely. There are a couple of minor drawbacks, however, such as the proprietary cable fitting on the headset, as a more universal and easy to replace cable fitting would have been better. Then we have the fairly minimal padding on the ear cups, which is ok to use, but a little thicker would have been much better. Of course, when you look at the price tag, these issues are very easy to overlook.

When buying a headset in this price range, build quality or sound quality is usually lacking, if you want both to be great, you have to spend a little more. That isn’t the case here and this may even be the best-looking and best-made headset in this price range. The limited padding isn’t a rarity in this price range either, so it’s hard to complain about that for more than one reason.

The acoustic performance is certainly on point here, with music, movies and to a greater extent, gaming, all sounding great. Ambient noise suppression isn’t a strong point, but personally, I like being able to hear a little of my environment while I’m gaming it prevents disorientation is busy areas.

Pros

  • Good sound quality
  • Powerful and clear microphone
  • Auto-adjusting headband
  • Multi-format support
  • Cool LED lighting
  • Affordable
  • Multi-format support
  • Retractable microphone

Cons

  • More padding on ear cups would be an improvement
  • Proprietary cable fitting on headset

“If you’re looking for a great sounding, stylish and affordable gaming headset, the TteSPORTS Cronos AD is one of the best looking and sounding headsets on a tighter budget.”
