Turn-Based Mech Combat Game Battletech Will Come out in April

Are you ready for a Battletech turn-based game?
Those of you who are not familiar with the Battletech universe should know that it launched officially in 1984 courtesy of the FASA Corporation. Originally known as BattleDroids, the series debuted with a board game designed by Jordan Weisman and L. Ross Babcock III. Since then, the franchise has expanded with various computer video games, a collectible card game, and an animated TV series.
This April, Battletech will take on the form of a modern turn-based game. The title will launch for PC and Mac, and its main highlight is a unique combat system. Players will need to make tactical decisions in order to ensure victory, and they will need to keep up with damage control and heat management. The graphics are nothing to write home about, but this is definitely not a bad-looking game by any measure.
Jordan Weisman had a few words to say:
“BATTLETECH has been a passion project for our team and for the fans who helped to make it a reality. We have done our very best to deliver a tactical ‘Mech experience that will delight long-time fans and excite new players who have yet to enter the MechWarrior universe. We know players are anxious to get their hands on the final game, and HBS joins Paradox in our excitement to deliver this April.”
In order to celebrate the game’s launch, its creators have released a video that explains basic combat. You can watch the video below, and you even pre-order Battletech right now if you like what you see.
