Optical sensors are loved for their smooth performance and I’m happy to report that the GRIP 300 doesn’t disappoint one bit. There are only three stages to the DPI settings, maxing out at 1750, but the silky smooth sensor is a joy to work with on any of the three settings available. There’s no issues with jitter or prediction to be seen, so this will no doubt prove popular with FPS gamers. The lift-off height is nice and low, no more than 1mm and that’s good news for those who use a lift-off play-style.
The GRIP 300 is a little smaller than I first though, so while you can use a rest technique, those with larger hands may find it uncomfortable to do so. The shape and size of the mouse are really well suited to a fingertip or claw grip and its light and nimble, making it great for twitchy shooters and MOBA style games.
Much like the GRIP 500 we recently reviewed, the GRIP 300 has really nice and responsive switches, they’re great for firing off rapid shots in successions, making this even more attractive for MOBA and FPS gamers. It’s also eSports/competitive gaming friendly, as having the DPI and Report Rate controllers out-of-the-way, on the bottom of the mouse, you’re less likely to much up your settings in the heat of battle.
