At £54.99 directly from Turtle Beach, the GRIP 500 is a little on the expensive side of the mid-range mouse market. There’s some fierce competition out there for the same kind of money and it’ll take some hefty consideration for people to take a shot on a new player in the market vs those tried and tested models. However, for this price, you do get great build quality and a good range of features, so I wouldn’t count out Turtle Beach too quickly.

Overview

For their first gaming mouse, the GRIP 500 certainly shows a lot of promise. A lot of companies come and go in this industry, all trying to innovate and to make a few bucks, but Turtle Beach have a lot of experience behind them from their audio business, as well as a very large and loyal fan base, so the GRIP 500 could be popular just based on its brand name alone. If anyone can make a big dent in the peripheral market, it’s these guys.

The GRIP 500 offers up respectable performance, nothing ground breaking, nothing exceptional, but still very good and it’s a worthy mouse for any gaming setup. Are there better mice for the same money? Perhaps, but there’s a lot of personal preferences thrown in the mix on who likes what. If this is just a sign of things to come from Turtle Beach, then I’m eager to see what they come up with next.

The price is a little high, but for a premium brand name and a very well made products, it’s not so hard to justify it. The switches, the LED lighting, the grip coating and everything else for that matter is well finish and of a good standard and that’s more than I can say about a lot of mice at this price.
