Overview

Another fantastic headset from Turtle Beach, it’s not 100% perfect, but few things in this world rarely are. For as near as makes no difference £100, this isn’t a particularly cheap headset, but you’re always going to pay a premium for quality wireless technology and that’s exactly what you’ll be doing here. It’s not expensive on the grand scheme of things though, and the Stealth 450 is priced around the same as a fair few other wireless gaming headsets.

What really sets this headset apart from the competition is the quality of the package as a whole. You’ve got great sound quality that has enough dynamic range to satisfy your love for music, movies or gaming, making it a viable all-round headset and not just some tuned up gaming only device, like we so often see these days. It’s very lightweight, especially for a wireless headset that can run for up to 10 hours on a charge, although I got closer to 8 hours, but I was running it at high volumes. The overall build quality is great too, and the design is tidy and understated, a welcome feature for those who don’t like the sometimes garish “gamer” designs out there.

Turtle Beach are a well-known and respected name in the peripheral business. I do think they’ve got a little bit of a bad rep with some PC gamers, as they’re often seen as a console focused company, but as we’ve seen in recent years, they’ve done a lot to change that image and quality products that perform well at competitive prices means they’re ticking all the right boxes.

Pros

  • Great build quality
  • Lightweight design
  • Detachable microphone
  • Crystal clear wireless audio
  • Mobile cable included
  • Good EQ profiles
  • Separate chat/game audio dials

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • The price tag may put some off, but it’s a reasonable price for a wireless headset of this specification

“The Stealth 450 is a solid all-round headset, which will put a smile on your face when gaming, watching movies or listening to music. The extra audio processing and wireless features are just icing on the cake.”
