How Much Does it Cost?

The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Xbox Gaming Headset is available right now from most major retailers. It’s priced at just £89.99, which is pretty great for such a well equipped wireless headset. It’s actually the same launch price as the old Gen 1 model was too. However, as they transition to the new model, Turtle Beach sell the old one for just £69.99 now too. I stand by my old review too, it’s still a great headset, it just looks a bit dated compared to the Gen 2. Of course, if you wanted this same headset with a few more bells and whistles, you can still get the Stealth 700 Gen 2 for £129.99 also.

Overview

Turtle Beach has put out more headsets over the years than most brands can dream about. They’ve certainly picked up a few tricks along the way and they know what works. They’ve taken the Turtle Beach Stealth 600, Gen 1, and improved it in just about every measurable way. The end result is a headset that still feels and sounds familiar to Turtle Beach fans but is just a cooler headset overall.

Build Quality

This is one of the biggest improvements, and while the old one was well made, this one is certainly better. The headband and slider adjustment feels more robust. There is better quality and more comfortable padding on the ear cups. The overall fit and finish looks more mature and premium too, especially with that recessed microphone boom.

Ergonomics

This still feels like a Turtle Beach headset, with everything having a little bit of wiggle room or adjustment to ensure a clean and comfortable fit. I like that the ear cups can be turned inwards, but have a nice friction to them so they don’t just flap around freely.

All of the controls on the side are easy to reach and easy to learn without having to look every two minutes where the volume is. Plus, having it wireless means you’re never at risk of tripping over a cable. Well, unless you’re charging while you play, but with 15 hours battery life, that’s not likely to happen often.

Sound

Just like every other modern headset from Turtle Beach, you get those iconic 50mm drivers with absolutely clear acoustics. There’s no distortion to be found here even at the max volume with some heavy EQ applied. They have a very good sound overall, and when you throw on Windows Sonic, you get some fantastic surround processing too; it’s compatible with Atmos and DTS Sound Unbound too.

Should I Buy Them

The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 take an already great headset and make it even better! Fully wireless, long battery life, comfortable ergonomics, durable build quality and excellent aesthetics. For this price, the Stealth 600 Gen 2 are hard to beat! Plus, they’ll work on your Xbox now, and next-gen Xbox too!
