Final Thoughts
Price
With an MSRP of just £89.99, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Wireless Headset for PlayStation/PC is pretty competitively priced. However, right now it’s just under £75 from a few major retailers, making it exceptional value for money for a wireless headset.
Overview
The latest headset from Turtle Beach isn’t quite the greatest headset ever, but it was never designed to be either. For well under £100, it can be hard to find a good quality wireless headset, but the Stealth 600 more than fits the bill. The build quality is pretty robust and will handle a few hard knocks and bumps. The headset is also fairly lightweight, despite having batteries built-in, it’s nicely balanced too.
Sound Quality
I really can’t fault this headset for its acoustic performance. It has a robust sounding range, delivering satisfying bass, mid-range, and treble with ease. I do think the stock profile is a little quite, but the built-in EQ fixes that nicely. Pre-installed presets allow you to boost different aspects of the audio, and they work exceptionally well. However, if you have a PC, you can tweak them further and really find a sound that suits your own taste.
No More Wires… Most of the Time
If you’ve never used a wireless headset before, it can be pretty liberating. I mean, most of us use a wireless control now, so why would you want to be tethered to that! Not to mention, headsets that hook up to the controller tend to drain the controller battery quicker too. I can’t find anything wrong with the signal either, it’s crystal clear, no latency issues and it even had a lot of range should you sit very far from your system. Of course, the only time you will need a wire, is when the charge runs out, which with 6 hours of use a day, would only be about twice a week.
Should I Buy One
I can’t find fault with this headset, and at this price range, you would be mad not to consider it for your next gaming headset. Offering good battery life, a comfortable fit, and great audio performance, it’s a steal at its current price.
