Turtle Beach is one of the biggest names in the headset market, with seemingly hundreds of headsets hitting the market over more years than I can remember. It seems they have something for every budget, from your cheap at-the-counter bargains, right up to their premium £250+ flagship headsets. Time and time again, we’ve reviewed a lot of headsets from Turtle Beach here at eTeknix, and they continue to impress us with their performance, features, and occasionally their value for money.
Today, I’ll be taking a look at their new Stealth 600 gaming headset for Xbox One. The wireless design features the new wireless tech, allowing it to pair with the Xbox One, or the Xbox One X, without the need for a dongle or any other hardware. It simply pairs up in the same way you pair a wireless controller, making it quick and easy to setup and use.
As with any new Turtle Beach headset, the 600 features many of their proprietary technologies. It features Superhuman hearing audio boosting, allowing you to enhance enemy footsteps for competitive gaming, a glasses friendly headband design, built-in EQ that can be customised from the mobile app or PC over USB, and much more.
With the wireless design, this headset is meant only for Xbox One, although with a sold-separate wireless Xbox dongle, you can also use it on a Windows PC too. For PlayStation fans, there’s a similar model tailored to that console too, although it uses a wireless USB dongle to connect, it is otherwise identical regarding features and specifications.
“The TURTLE BEACH® STEALTH 600 is the latest gaming headset for Xbox One, debuting Microsoft’s new Xbox Wireless direct to console technology and Windows Sonic surround sound, plus an all-new modern style with a flip-up mic. The STEALTH 600 delivers immersive surround sound plus chat audio through powerful 50mm over-ear speakers, and features Turtle Beach’s renowned high-sensitivity mic that can be flipped-up to mute. For comfort, the STEALTH 600 dawns the latest iteration of Turtle Beach’s unique ProSpecs™ glasses friendly design, and has a breathable mesh fabric-wrapped headband and ear-cushions. The STEALTH 600 also includes Turtle Beach’s exclusive Superhuman Hearing™ sound setting, Mic Monitoring, independent game and chat volume control, audio presets including Bass Boost, and a 15-hour rechargeable battery.” – Turtle Beach
Don’t forget to run the hub application on your computer or mobile device. By doing so, you can adjust features on the headset, including the EQ. You can download it here.
