Ubisoft promotes Uplay with $1 games

Steam isn’t the only digital distribution service of games that can offer crazily-low game prices. Ubisoft’s Uplay service is currently having a huge sale at the moment, mainly for American consumers, that allows you to get hold of some classic titles for as little as $1.
Ubisoft just announced the official launch of its Uplay for the PC a couple of days, but the news of low priced video games is probably more interesting than a platform that’s similar to Valve’s Steam and EA’s Origin.
To encourage gamers to try out Uplay, Ubisoft has been selling the following titles for just $1: Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X 2 (16th), From Dust (17th), Silent Hunter 5 (18th), and Driver: San Francisco (19th). The following titles are being sold for 75 percent off: Anno 2070, Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Might & Magic: Heroes VI, and Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction.
I was disappointed to find that two of the deals have already passed – meaning all that’s left is Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic for £1/€1/$1 today and Driver San Francisco – Deluxe Edition for £1/€1/$1 tomorrow.
“Uplay PC is a great way for customers to discover Ubisoft’s games, connect with their friends and gaming communities, and win achievements and content that’s not available anywhere else,” said Stephanie Perotti, Ubisoft’s director of worldwide online games. “For PC gamers that are already fans of Ubisoft’s titles or have been considering trying some of our classics, this promotion is a great deal, and our way of saying thank you for their support.”
Whether you like the idea of having another Steam-esque service, you can’t really say no to those prices on Silent Hunter 5 and Driver San Francisco. So if you’re interested in those games – head on over to the store for more up to date information on the deals.
Remember the £1/$1/€1 deals end Sunday.
