Ubisoft Reportedly Developing a New Quadruple A Game

Ubisoft

Ubisoft is not having the best of times, but despite recent flops, the company still boasts several high-value IPs. With the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in 2025, Ubisoft hopes to begin a new cycle of successes. Meanwhile, hints about their future projects are surfacing. A Ubisoft employee recently shared on Linkedin that they are working on a new Triple A and “Quadruple A” game.

What Does “Quadruple A” Mean?

“Quadruple A” is a term coined in 2020 with the advent of the latest generation of consoles. Initially used by Microsoft, Krafton, and Ubisoft itself, the classification was intended to describe projects like The Callisto Protocol, Perfect Dark Reboot, Beyond Good & Evil 2, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Skull and Bones. These titles share characteristics like massive budgets, cutting-edge technologies, and impressive technical achievements.

Although this term hasn’t been widely embraced by gamers, with some even mocking the classification, it remains a significant marker for studios aiming to push boundaries in game development.

An unnamed Ubisoft employee claims they are part of a project fitting the “Quadruple A” criteria. While details remain scarce, this signals that the studio is not slowing down. Despite the setbacks, Ubisoft appears committed to delivering large-scale, ambitious games in the future.
