Speaking with MCV Ubisoft have stated that they believe the pre-orders for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are higher than the pre-order levels for the current Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Though Ubisoft do not have exact figures on console sales, they are making their judgement based on the sale of Ubisoft pre-order titles for both sets of consoles.
That said games like Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag are both reportedly raking in the pre-orders. Alain Corre, who leads the European division of Ubisoft, did not specify whether the fourth installment of Assassin’s Creed was doing better than number 3 but we can probably assume it is given the nature of Ubisoft’s statements about the upcoming generation of consoles.
Activision similarly reported a totally opposite opinion saying Call of Duty Ghosts pre-orders were down because they believed gamers were uncertain about the next generation of consoles.
