Ubisoft Wants Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate to Run Well on Your PC

A lot of people have said a lot of bad things about Assassin’s Creed: Unity, but in my humble opinion, the game was not all that bad at its core. The main problem with it was that it required a relatively powerful PC to run properly, at least in theory because some people reported problems with it even on high-end hardware. Ubisoft has since released several statements in which it basically admitted that it released an unfinished and unpolished game, which is a shame considering the fact that Assassin’s Creed is definitely their most popular franchise.

In order to make up for its mistake, Ubisoft plans to do things right this time around with Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which is set to arrive on the PC a bit after its console launch. The Creative Director of Ubisoft, Marc-Alexis Côté, recently stated in an interview that the team behind the game’s development is working really hard on optimizing the game properly in order to ensure that it will run well on a variety of hardware configurations.

“We’ve got an internal team that’s dedicated to the PC version, and one of the things that I’m happy about is that we’re really taking our time with the PC version to really make it shine. We want the game to really work well on the PC on day one, which is why it’s not the same launch [date] as the Xbox One and the PS4 versions. It will come a bit later in the fall, but I think it will be worth the wait.”

Even though it’s understandable to remain skeptic at this point, I think that it’s worth remembering that older Assassin’s Creed games were decently optimized, so maybe the company can take a step back and do things the right way this time.
