Last week a document appeared online that completely outlined pretty much the entirety of Sony’s counterargument against Microsoft’s proposed takeover of Activision/Blizzard. It was certainly interesting stuff and if you’d like to learn more about it, click the link here! – As was entirely expected at some point, however, Microsoft has issued their response to this outlining why they believe, at least on paper, why the deal should go ahead, and more so, how it won’t affect any anti-competition laws.
Issued to the CMA (the UK regulatory body currently investigating the matter), it seems that following a report via PCGamesN, a redacted section may have contained some hugely important information regarding the upcoming release of The Elder Scrolls 6. – Put simply, the UK government might actually know, or at least have a planned date, from Microsoft as to when Elder Scrolls 6 is set for release.
Now, in terms of an exact date, it’s exceptionally unlikely that Microsoft has been overly specific in this regard. At best, we’d probably only anticipate them confirming a quarter and year (ie. Q3 2026). – Based on the comments made in this redacted section, however, it is categorically clear that Microsoft has stated a date, and more so, people at the CMA and also the UK government are now privy to roughly when this highly-anticipated game should be released.
Of course, those of us outside this loop are still left to guess with best estimates as to when it will arrive. Based on comments from Bethesda, however, and specifically in regards to them not having yet communited full resources to its development (wanting to get Starfield out of the way first), The Elder Scrolls 6 will not arrive until at least 2026 and possibly even 2028.
For any UK politician running during the next general election, however, throwing the reveal of The Elder Scrolls 6’s release date into your manifesto probably wouldn’t do your chances of winning any harm!
