Unu Android “Entertainment Hub” Will Ship In November For $200

Engadget reports that the Unu Entertainment hub is finally available. First shown at E3 the Unu device takes advantage of the incredible versatility of the Android operating system to offer both a tablet, games console and entertainment centre combination experience. The Unu was originally scheduled to ship in Summer but has been delayed to next month. We now know that the device will cost $200 if you choose to have everything but the game controller (meaning the tablet, docking station and remote) and it will cost $250 if you want to add the game controller in.

There is a 7 inch 1280 x 800 display with a 2MP front camera and 5MP rear camera. 1GB of RAM, a 1.6GHz quad core processor, Android 4.2 and 8GB of internal storage top off the main internal specifications. Storage can be expanded with up to a 64GB microSD card. The device has a HDMI output which allows it to stream to a TV and in combination with the provided remote and the docking station it can be used as an entertainment centre. The Unu also has two USB ports.

The device can be pre-ordered on the official Unu site here. It certainly looks like an interesting and versatile implementation of Android hardware but do you think it looks any good? Or is it “just” an Android tablet with a remote, game controller and docking station!?
