Upcoming Halo and Gears of War Games Could Arrive on the PC

We’ve recently found out that the Halo 5 Forge mode will arrive on Windows 10 later this year, and even though this is definitely not the entire Halo 5 game but just a fraction of it, it still made me think that maybe we’ll see more Halo content being launched for the PC in the future. As it happens, recent reports are claiming that future Halo and Gears of War games will indeed be available for Microsoft Windows, but it’s worth noting that nothing has been confirmed by Microsoft at this point. The rumors are coming from Kotaku, and they refer only to future Halo and Gears of War games, which means that the full version of Halo 5 will not be arriving on the PC.
“Developer sources have told us that Microsoft’s new mandate is to release future games – including the flagship Halo series – on both platforms. The recently-cancelled Fable Legends, which was playable across Windows 10 and Xbox One, was one of the first games to implement this strategy.”
If the leak turns out to be legit, it means that gamers will be able to enjoy Gears of War 4 on the PC, even though it’s almost certain that the game would be retailed through the Windows Store. The move would certainly make sense as Microsoft is currently trying to bring its Xbox and Windows users together, at least as far as games are concerned. As soon as the company releases an official statement on this, we’ll let you know.
