Update 6.66 for DOOM Released—Free Weekends, All MP DLC Unlocked, and More

It is not even the weekend yet but Bethesda wants fans of DOOM to start it right. With the release of Update 6.66 the DOOM season pass is no longer valid, but all the multiplayer DLC content is now available to all players for free. That is three multiplayer DLC packs featuring nine maps, three additional guns and three playable demons. There are also new armor sets and equipment included in this bonus.
Multiplayer Changes
The update also revises the mutiplayer progression system. It is no longer a random unlock system but through a specific leveling requirement. Players can also unlock these options via in-game challenges, which certainly makes it more fun. This ensures that all players have the chance to unlock anything. Veterans even have the option to make it hard on themselves and reset the unlocking process. That’s right. Hardcore players can start at zero and start everything fresh. For their efforts, Bethesda is giving these players a special badge recognizing their previous experience. Those who have achieved max Slayer level for example, a special designated Slayer badge is granted.
FREE Weekends
Bethesda is feeling extra generous and has now enabled FREE weekends for anyone who does not own the game yet. Starting at 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, July 20, on Xbox One, 1pm ET on Thursday, July 20 on PC, and 12:00 pm ET on Thursday, July 27 on PlayStation 4, anyone can try DOOM for free. Players who purchase the game during the free weekend also get to transfer all their progress to the full game.
Much Lowered DOOM Price
But wait…there’s more! Bethesda is also lowering the price of the game to fully entice players. It is now available for only $14.99 USD or £11.99 in the UK. Australian players can buy it for just $17.99. Obviously this is for the digital purchase only.
