The development team at uTorrent, the highly successful torrent client used for downloading files via P2P amongst other things, are set to release a new version of their program named “uTorrent Plus”. It will bring with it new features such as the ability to convert videos and transfer torrents/files to external devices. uTorrent’s owning company Bittorrent Inc. has said it is hoped this will bring in extra revenue for the company, however, given the nature of the users of uTorrent it is widely expected, quite ironically, that this program will suffer from piracy.
uTorrent has 100 million users every month which makes it the most widely used torrent client on the market, the main draw of the uTorrent plus is the ability to convert and transfer files conveniently between mobile devices such as the iPod, PSP, iPad amongst many others. No price has been designated for uTorrent Plus yet and it will be released sometime in the autumn.
