How Much Does It Cost?
The V-Color Manta XSky 32GB DDR5 (16GBx2) 6600MHz memory comes in a few variants, both in terms of speed and in colour, so which one is right for you is up to you. However, the changes will result in price variants too. The model tested today comes in at $289.99 directly from the v-color website. However, prices start at just $209.99 for the 6000 MHz and increase slightly for the 6200, 6400 and 6800 MHz kit as you might expect. As best as I can see though, all four speeds are available in white, black, gold, or silver finishes. However, all kits are only available as 32GB 2 x 16GB sets.
Overview
This may have been a new brand to me, but if this is any indication of the quality they can produce elsewhere in their range, then they’ve certainly gotten my attention. While there’s no shortage of interesting-looking memory kits on the market today, the chrome finish on offer is something a little bit different and it really grabs your attention.
If I was to do a custom loop cooling setup with some stainless steel or similar metallic materials, these would be a perfect complement to that. Plus, the RGB strip on the top is gorgeous and gives off some lovely pastel colour tones that are not as garish as some memory kits. However, I’d love to see an RGB-less version in their range that just has that lovely shiny metal on the spine instead.
The build quality seems solid throughout, with a thick heat spreader, and everything is well put together over a black PCB, so no concerns there. They use automated IC sorting, ensuring the best performance for each set, while the DIMMs themselves implement Power Management ICs (PMICs), and on-die ECC as well as the latest HYNIX memory modules.
Should I Buy Them?
If you’re looking to get great performance from your system, the V-Color Manta XSky 32GB DDR5 (16GBx2) 6600MHz memory certainly ticks all the right boxes thanks to its high speeds and low latency. However, it really sets itself apart from the crowd with excellent build quality and a unique aesthetic, which is subjective, but we think it looks stunning!
