Some people have been nosing around Valve’s internal network, into the “Valve Jira” to be precise and have revealed some interesting screenshots to Valve Time. Whilst digging around they found references to employees being allocated to Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 and Source 2. Valve Jira was reportedly exploited to gain access to Valve’s internal project management infrastructure and with entries to Half Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 and Source 2 it would suggest that Valve were working on all three projects.
Half Life 3 had 42 employees assigned and Left 4 Dead 3 had multiple mailing lists attached. This would suggest quite a lot of activity from Valve on these new games which is nice to see given how secretive Valve normally is about new releases.
The leak is actually quite extensive and includes many unreleased titles. Though as Valve Time point out these group project listings also list a lot of projects that were cancelled a long time ago as well as random joke groups and recreational groups that list non-Valve titles like Skyrim and Battlefield 3. Valve refused to comment but the leak certainly is interesting.
If you want to know more we strongly encourage you to read Valve Time’s full write up as they provide a lot more knowledge, expertise and understanding that I have on the subject matter.
