It seems Valve has finally taken action to address the rampant cheating and botting that has plagued Team Fortress 2 for the past few years. This comes as a relief to the community, which has been vocal about the issue since 2022 when Valve initially acknowledged the problem but then remained silent.
Now after 2 years and another huge petition to save the game this time FixTF2 has managed to gain around 340,000 thousand signatures and has finally pushed Valve to do something about the issue.
Now it seems that Valve is coming down with an iron fist banning bots in mass and taking down accounts hours after being made. These bans are some of the worst I’ve seen with the bans being permanent, no chance of appealing the ban and locking all TF2 items in your inventory.
All players can rejoice that Valve has finally taken steps to fix the game. It’s a long-awaited victory that came after two petitions with hundreds of thousands of signatures, years of neglect, and the banning of thousands of accounts.
