Valve’s Steam Box prototype at CES 2013 put up to attract hardware partners

Although Valve isn’t allowing the press to see the Steam Box prototype, according to a report put up by The Verge, the Steam Box is more of a small-Chassis PC System.

The unit is still only a prototype and the booth that was set up at CES 2013 was designed to help meet with hardware partners.

Valve did say last month that it’s aiming to have a PC system that is living room friendly for everyone, but it will require manufacturers to make hardware capable and dedicated to running Steam. Valve did also tell the hardware partners that they have a choice to call it whatever they like should they choose to partner with them.
