Valve’s Steam Deck & Docking Station Are in Stock and Available Now!

Steam Deck

Released last year to huge demand from consumers, the only issue which Valve has predominantly seen with the Steam Deck is that they haven’t been able to produce systems in numbers great enough to satisfy demand. As such, a pre-order queuing system has been in place in order to attempt to get the portable systems to people on a sort of first-come-first-served basis. – That is, however, until now.

Following an official announcement (which you can read in full here), Valve has confirmed that both the Steam Deck and its Docking Station are available, in stock, and available to purchase now with shipping estimated to take no longer than two weeks!

Valve Confirms Steam Deck & Docking Stations are In Stock Now!

As part of the official announcement, Valve has said:

“We’re happy to announce that with today’s batch of order emails, we have completed our reservation queue. We are now in-stock and Steam Deck is available for purchase!

It’s been more than a year since Steam Deck was first announced. Since day one we’ve been dealing with numerous supply chain issues and component shortages. While the team worked to resolve these issues and catch up with demand, we implemented a reservation system. This system enabled customers to save their spot in line without having to worry about refreshing pages, fighting scripts, or battling bots.

The team has worked hard over the past year to address shortages and solve logistics issues, and because of these efforts we’re now manufacturing and shipping Steam Decks at our highest rate ever. Despite the ever-increasing reservation rate, we’ve been able to beat our shipping estimates, and as of today, finally complete the queue.

Having said all that, our production, processing, and shipping bandwidth is still finite. If order volume for a specific model of Steam Deck grows higher than our ability to ship it in a timely manner, delivery estimates will lengthen, and at a certain point we’ll flip back into reservation mode until we’re able to catch up. Just as before, customers will have their place in line saved, and they’ll receive an email when their order is ready. Once we’ve caught up and served all outstanding reservations, we’ll flip back into taking orders.”

Time to Order!

There had, of course, been more than a few indications over the last few months that Valve was starting to catch up with its initial run of orders. The future, however, looked even brighter as they made more than a few comments that production levels were starting to ramp up meaning that consumers originally looking at a 2-3 month wait for their Steam Deck to arrive could anticipate its arrival significantly sooner.

As things stand though, we can categorically confirm that both the Steam Deck and its Docking Station are in stock now and available to purchase directly from Valve. And yes, with an estimated shipping date of just 1-2 weeks!
