With Intel imminently set to announce the launch of its new 13th-gen Raptor Lake processors, this will clearly also coincide with the launch of a brand new generation of motherboard models. Yes, the LGA1700 socket will be retained from their 12th-gen Alder Lake series making this perhaps a little less significant than if it was a whole new transition.
Still though, new processors, new motherboards, there’s clearly going to be a lot to check out here and following a report via Videocardz, we might have our best window into Intel Z790 yet as various images from ASUS, MSI, and ASRock models have leaked online!
We should, of course, note that the following motherboard models from ASUS, MSI, and ASRock will clearly not represent their full Z790 line-up. Particularly since Intel is still retaining dual support for both DDR4 and DDR5 memory on the platform. It is, however, likely that this will at least form their initial launch line-up and certainly gives us more than a lot to check out ahead of their official unveiling.
Intel is expected (all going well) to formally announce the launch of their Raptor Lake processors tomorrow (September 27th). As such, while this leak certainly gives us more than a little to digest, we can clearly likely expect official press releases from all of these partners in the very near future.
For the moment though, what do you think? Are you excited about the launch of Intel Raptor Lake? Are you planning to make the transition to it? And if so, which motherboard manufacturer currently has your attention? – Let us know in the comments!
