Vertagear Racing Series PL4500 & RGB Upgrade Kit Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The Vertagear PL4500 retails for a price in the region of £350. It should be noted, however, that at the time of this review, we did note it on sale for £320. So deals are clearly out there to be had!
So, what about the RGB upgrade kit? Well, they cost as follows:
- RGB LED Top Kit – circa £279.99 (confirmed price – $299.99)
- RGB LED Bottom Kit – circa £279.99 (confirmed price – $299.99)
So, all told, this combined chair and RGB kit will cost you around £800. A figure that is clearly quite a substantial amount of money. Then again, this is quite a substantial finished product!
Overview
The Vertagear PL4500 is, by its own right, a very nice gaming chair. It’s comfortable, stylish, well designed and, at the risk of causing offense to some of you, big enough to easily accommodate the ‘larger’ consumer. Let’s face it, not all gamers fit into 32″ jeans or size 10 leggings.
The RGB LED Kit, however, takes what is already a high-level gaming chair design into the upper echelons of premium quality. Put simply, I really like this gaming chair. While I admit it isn’t perfect, the flaws are so incidental and minor that when I’m sat in it or indeed when I look at it, I forget them all!
Practicality
This is quite a substantial gaming chair and, as such, any prospective purchaser is going to have to take practicality into account. We used the word substantial quite deliberately as this is (relatively speaking) quite a larger gaming chair.
In the grand scheme of things, however, it isn’t notably bigger than your ‘average’ model. As such, if you already have a gaming chair, then comparatively, the PL4500 should give you a little more breathing room.
When it comes to the RGB lighting, thanks to the wireless control via the CAM software, you can easily set this exactly how you want it. I would’ve liked the RGB to be a bit brighter, but that’s simply a personal preference.
With soft and hard-tilt control, as well as with adjustable arm-rests, it’s absolutely faultless.
Final Thoughts
On its own, the Vertagear PL4500 is an excellent gaming chair. With the addition of the RGB LED lighting kits, however, it really takes it to the next level. So, whether you choose to get just the chair or both, you can’t lose. You’re onto a winner here.
Admittedly, compared to the gaming chair, the RGB LED kits are rather expensive, but then, rarely does style come without an associated price tag.
If you were the proud owner of this gaming chair with the RGB LED kits, you’d have your very own light blasen throne from which you could rule the gaming world, or at the very least, have a very comfortable place to park your backside.
