A Closer Look

The chair comes in a pretty huge 34 kg box, so be prepared to have a friend on hand to help you move it around. Once unboxed, you’ll find the chairs comes with a few main components which will need fitting together. Don’t worry though, you’ll be able to build it on your own. The base cushion is nice and large, with some thick padding, and a stunning looking red racing stripe decal down the middle.

Tucked into the right side, a small level for adjusting the angle of the backrest.

The construction of the chair is superb. The frame is incredibly strong and durable, with easy access bolts to make any adjustments, such as moving the arms further in or out to suit your desk size.

Backrest

The backrest follows the same red on black theme, with the strip running up the middle. The upper section has more red than black though. It’s hardly subtle, but I quite like the strong contrast of the rich red and the soft black.

All the stitching is durable and incredibly neat and tidy too. There are removable seams where you can unzip and remove parts, no doubt to allow for easy cleaning. However, it’s all pretty durable and should be easy to clean with a cloth.

More Cushions!

Also included with this slick looking racing/gaming chair are two thick padded cushions. The one on the left attaches to the headrest, which the other provides lumbar support.

The head cushion mounts using an elastic strap over the backrest, while the lumbar clips around the upper and lower parts of the backrest, making it height adjustable.

Everything Else

Quite a few gaming chairs use a plastic base, but not Vertagear. The base is a single piece of metal, and beautifully finished. It’s going to provide added durability and stability to the chair for many years.

The main bracket for the gas lift has a tilt angle/resistance adjustment dial, as well as the usual level for the height adjustment. It’s pretty standard stuff, but it’ll get the job done.

The five wheel are colour matched to the chair, and even feature a five-spoke alloy design that matches the wheel mounting bracket. They’re Nylon coated too, so they’ll work well on carpet and hard floor surfaces.

Included in the box, four long screws to mount the backrest, as well as a very nice quality Allen Key to fit them.

Finally, the gas lift, which is pretty self-explanatory.
