Vertagear SL5000 Gaming Chair Review

Final Product

Building a gaming chair can be a pretty painful task at times, especially fitting the backrest. However, Vertagear has made things a lot easier, as the backrest simply slots down onto the angle adjustment bars then screws in. This is easier than most “cheap” chairs where the bars screw to the side of the chair. Overall, it’s made the experience of building the chair quicker and much easier to do on your own.

The finished product looks fantastic. Of course, the lumbar and headrest cushions are completely optional, but they look great once they’re mounted in place. This one is height adjustable too, so you can get the best support for your back where you need it most.

The headrest cushion is great too, as you may find your head is too far back when fully relaxed in the chair. Plus, with the matching red and black, it looks great one mounted on the top of the chair.

The armrests have a hard-wearing design, but there’s some padding to the top. It’s not squishy and soft, but it’s enough to let you rest your elbows on them comfortably.

With a five wheel design, it gives you plenty of stability and makes it easy to roll around the office. The chair is pretty darn heavy though, so it does bog down a bit on thicker carpets, but that’s to be expected.

The armrests can be adjusted forward and back, up and down, and in and out horizontally. Everyone is a different height and sits a little differently, so having all this extra adjustment is certainly welcome.

At The Desk

As you would expect, it fits under the desk just nicely, and it would be a bummer if it didn’t. You can see it’s sitting next to the more expensive noble chair, which does have a thinner backrest. However, the Vertagear hardly looks second best in comparison.

Overall, a great chair, with durable and comfortable hardware that’s sure to last many years of extensive use. Plus, it’s one of the coolest looking gaming chairs on the market right now too.
