ViewSonic is introducing gamers to their new XG240R. It is a 24-inch TN panel gaming monitor capable of up to 144Hz refresh rates. Furthermore, it supports AMD Radeon FreeSync for a smooth and tear-free gaming.
Addtionally, ViewSonic also adds their ELITE RGB feature to the XG240R, hence the “R”in the name. So it has RGB LEDs which illuminates the display from the rear. According to ViewSonic, this can synchronize with other compatible RGB LED products. Although they did not go into detail as to which RGB platforms have official support yet.
The display outputs up to 1920 x 1080 (full HD) resolution and has a 5ms typical response time (1ms OD). The XG240R is capable of up to 350 cd/m2 brightness with a contrast ratio of 1000:1. It also features five levels of rapid response rate and 22 levels of black stabilization.
In terms of connectivity users can use its DisplayPort, or any of its two HDMI 1.4 ports for output. There are also two USB 3.0 Type-A , and one USB 3.0 Type-B port available.
A 3.5mm headphone out port is also available for users who want privacy instead of using the built-in dual 2W speakers.
The XG240R monitor has a retail price of $272.99 and comes with a 3-year warranty.
